Investment Institutions

Investment Institutions are organizations that pool together funds on behalf of others and invest those funds in a variety of different financial instruments and asset classes. They include investment funds, insurance funds, and pension funds.

The capital market players welcome investment institutions, and currently there are 128 of such active in the Iranian market.

According to the Law for “Development of New Financial Instruments and Institutions”, the managers of financial institutions, such as investment and holding companies inclusive of the board members and the managing director shall not have a record of effective absolute criminal conviction and shall hold the required professional qualifications. The requirements and criteria for the professional qualifications are based merely on their education background and related job experiences.

Currently, the minimum capital required is IRR 10 billion (around $230 million).
