Investment Banks

Investment banks serve a number of purposes in the financial and investment world, including underwriting of new stock issues, handling mergers and acquisitions, and acting as a financial advisor. Other roles of investment banks include asset management for large investment funds and personal wealth management for high-net-worth individuals.

The investment banks in Iran, among their daily activities such as underwriting, subscription etc. may operate advisory services, portfolio management, broker / dealer and market making activities as well.
Due to the importance of the activities and duties of investment banks in the Iranian capital market, their activity license is the only license being granted by the Exchange High Council, not the SEO, while the minimum capital requirement is the highest among all financial institutions; almost $50 million.
